These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all sleep consultancy services provided by Patricia Flynn / Prepare to Sleep (“we”, “us”, “our”) via www.PrepareToSleep.com and associated booking platforms.

Our services are available to clients worldwide.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom, and any disputes shall fall under the jurisdiction of the UK courts.  By registering for or participating in any group or individual consultation, event, or workshop, whether online or in person, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions

2. Professional Status & Scope of Practice

2.1 The founder of Prepare to Sleep is a qualified Occupational Therapist registered to practice in Ireland and Belgium only.

2.2 However, when delivering services through Prepare to Sleep, she is practising in the capacity of a Sleep Consultant, not as an Occupational Therapist.

2.3 The services provided:

  • Are educational and advisory in nature
  • Are informed by developmental science, sleep research and relevant public health guidance
  • Do not constitute occupational therapy assessment, diagnosis or treatment
  • Do not create a therapist–patient or clinical relationship

2.4 These services are not medical care and are not a substitute for consultation with a GP, paediatrician, health visitor or other qualified healthcare professional.

If clinical or medical concerns arise, you are advised to seek appropriate medical input.

3. Nature of the Service

3.1 We provide personalised sleep education, guidance and support for infants, children and families.

3.2 Support may include:

  • Review of sleep needs and patterns
  • Discussion of developmentally appropriate expectations
  • Practical strategies
  • Written sleep plans
  • Ongoing advisory support

3.3 All guidance is based on current research, developmental understanding and recognised public health recommendations at the time of delivery.

4. No Guarantee of Specific Outcomes

4.1 Sleep development varies significantly between children.

4.2 While we provide professional, evidence-informed support, we cannot and do not guarantee specific outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • A baby or child sleeping through the night
  • Elimination of night waking
  • Sleep changes within a specific timeframe
  • Behavioural or emotional outcomes

4.3 Outcomes depend on multiple factors beyond our control, including health, temperament, neurodevelopment, multidimensional environment and consistency of implementation.

5. Safe Sleep, Risk & Parental Decision-Making

5.1 We may share research findings, international and national guidelines and public health information relating to sleep practices, risk factors and relative risks.

5.2 However, all decisions about:

  • Where a child sleeps
  • How a child sleeps
  • Sleep environment arrangements
  • Night-time parenting responses

remain the sole responsibility of the parent(s) or legal guardian(s).

5.3 Parents and caregivers are responsible for conducting their own informed risk assessments and making decisions that are appropriate for their individual circumstances.

5.4 We do not supervise sleep arrangements and cannot assume responsibility for parenting decisions made following consultation.

6. Client Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Disclose relevant medical, developmental or safeguarding concerns
  • Seek medical advice where appropriate
  • Take full responsibility for decisions and implementation of guidance

You remain responsible for your child’s wellbeing at all times.
